What is Postpartum Depression?
Postpartum depression can be one of the most disorienting experiences a woman faces after childbirth. What begins as exhaustion or emotional sensitivity can deepen into a loss of connection to self, to baby, and to the sense of who she once was. While it is often explained through hormones, sleep deprivation, and life changes, many women feel there is something more happening beneath the surface that is harder to name.
From an energetic perspective, many women experience an expanded field of energy when pregant, what I refer to as the golden seed of creation. After birth, this field shifts or contracts, sometimes leaving a mother feeling emptied or altered in ways that are difficult to name.
In addition, the intensity of the birthing process can stir or fragment underlying emotional and energetic patterns. These subtle changes may contribute to feelings of disconnection, overwhelm, or a loss of inner coherence.
The Loss of The Golden Seed Of Creation
During pregnancy, many women experience a heightened sense of vitality, radiance, and connection. Some describe it as a glow, others as a deep inner fullness. From an energetic perspective, this can be understood as an expanded field that envelopes pregnant women, what I refer to as the golden seed of creation.
This state is often felt internally, and relationally. Others may feel drawn to the mother-to-be, sensing this luminous and alive presence in her field. For some women, this period can even include subtle sensory experiences, such as an increased sensitivity to sound, energy, or a felt sense of the sacred.
It is not uncommon for women to long for this state again. The experience of carrying life can open a profound connection to creation itself, something that can feel deeply nourishing and meaningful.
After birth, however, this energetic field shifts. The focus of that creative force moves toward the child, and the mother’s field can contract or reorganize. While a sacred presence surrounds the newborn, the mother may no longer feel held in the same way she did during pregnancy.
For some, this transition can feel like a loss, subtle or significant. A depletion. A change in identity. A quiet absence where something once lived.
If the birth was difficult or overwhelming, this shift can be intensified. Physical exhaustion, emotional stress, or trauma can amplify the sense of disorientation or emptiness that follows.
From this perspective, part of postpartum healing is not only emotional or physical, but energetic. With awareness, support, and the right guidance, this transition can become a pathway into deeper coherence, restoration, and a renewed connection to self.
A helpful practice for Postpartum depression
One practice that might help is feeling and sensing the light that surrounds the newborn baby. The baby holds a light from being in the spiritual realm and is still connected to it when sleeping as it journeys back while sleeping.
It is a different light, not the golden seed of creation.
An Energetic Tip: When a baby is falling asleep, put the baby on your chest and sense where it goes in the dream world. You can follow it to a warmth of light and bask in it with the baby.

Postpartum Depression and Loss of Self After Birth
Often women have this amazing connection and some long for this seed of creation that leaves upon delivery. It is a divine energy and a woman can feel a sense of abandonment or deep loss when it withdraws.
When we take into account the many myths where humanity falls from the grace of God. Such as the legend of The Garden of Eden where we were basking in the light, we were kicked out of this garden and way of life. For many. this carries a deep wound and it can be triggered when the Golden Seed of Creation leaves. This is an unconsious trigger that can be deeply embedded. It may not trigger so deeply in one’s life until this magnificent light dissappears.
This can lead to depression as this very palpable light is now gone. Most are unaware of this light but deep inside one knows something is gone.
If approached with this awareness one can do well with working with a Healer who can help plug them into a spiritual light. It won’t be the Golden Seed of Creation but it will be beautiful. Where one can integrate and embody the warmth of the light – Christ consciousness, Universal love into one’s life.
Some churches, temples, meditation groups and nature carry this field where one can keep fostering this, in oneself.
Energetic Disruption
Energetic disruption can contribute to postpartum depression. During the birthing process, energies are stirred within the womb. Ideally, there is a natural release. It is an opportunity to release, push out, old energies that had been held before conceiving. In other words, the birthing process can be a form of cleansing,
However, in some cases, these energies can become unsettled, creating a sense of internal energetic disruption that affects emotional balance.
In this state, the system can be more open and impressionable. It is not uncommon for external or fragmented energies to be drawn toward this heightened field, sometimes attaching to the mother creating an energetic disruption.
These influences can affect the womb, ovaries, and surrounding energetic structures, and may be experienced as a shift in mood, identity, or a deep sense of being out of alignment with oneself.

Postpartum depression is not a failure, and it is not something to push through or explain away. It is often a signal that something deeper within the body, the nervous system, and the energetic field is asking to be seen.
For some women, this experience is quiet and subtle. For others, it can feel overwhelming, disorienting, or even frightening. However it appears, it deserves care, attention, and the right kind of support.
If you have someone suffering from postpartum depression or feeling a loss of self after birth, be gentle and bring her the gift and energy of your patience and love. Perhaps consider outings or gifts that bring her into her sacredness. It is important not to evangelize but to trust her to find her own way into her sacredness.
Healing is not about returning to who you were before the birth. Something real has changed. The path forward is a reorientation.
With the right support, this period can become a time of integration. A new sense of self and embodiment can begin to take form.
This is the space where deeper healing work becomes possible.
